General Information

The surgical simulator Surgical Science is a system for training and simulation of different types of laparoscopic surgery based on virtual reality techniques. It includes simulation modules for training in procedures such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, advanced suture anastomosis, gynecology, hysterectomy, bariatric surgery and nephrectomy, which offer the userSystem for red code training that combines both hardware and software and is intended to consolidate the user knowledge and have the opportunity to practice the training code red. This system is mainly aimed at training health care professionals and other personnel area, it is operating a dummy core to simulate different states of the patient. Thus, the user of the simulator will be subjected to conditions similar to actual and obtain an assessment of the procedure performed. The software simulator consists of two main interfaces, an interface will be visible for teachers where you can configure all parameters of the red code; the second interface corresponds to the display of patient vital signs, this interface can be observed at all times by students who are doing training training in these procedures and the opportunity to develop skills in the handling of instruments Laparoscopic. The simulator has a system of haptic feedback force (recreates the resistance of the structures involved in an intervention) with 5 degrees of freedom in motion detection; this means that the system can monitor the following movements: insertion (front / rear), vertical (up / down), horizontal (left / right), rotation, opening and closing of the handles (instrumental grip). The force feedback is synchronized for each year and dependent on the user's movement.
